SUSTAINABILITY

We believe in creating unforgettable experiences while respecting and protecting the environment and the communities around us. At the heart of our mission is a commitment to building a sustainable future, where hospitality and responsibility go hand in hand.

Sustainability is the cornerstone of a more balanced tourism sector, and we are proud to be part of this transformation.

Join us in making a difference and discover more about our commitment.

Your support plays a crucial role in helping us achieve our sustainability goals. Find out how you can contribute to our mission during your stay:

We have developed a towel and linen change policy to avoid the unnecessary use of resources. We kindly ask for your cooperation:

  • If your towel is clean, please do not place it on the floor; hang it on the towel rail to reuse it;
  • Please let us know if you require a linen change. Beds are changed upon request.

Did you know that the Algarve is facing significant challenges due to the extreme drought affecting the region? We are doing our part by adopting measures that allow us to better manage this vital resource. Here’s how you can help:

  • Opt for quick showers and turn off the tap while lathering your body and hair;
  • Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth or washing your hands;
  • Reuse the towels from your room and the pool;
  • If you notice a leaking tap or shower, please let us know.

Our goal is to promote the reduction of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), without compromising the comfort of our guests. We count on your support:

  • Please avoid leaving the room key in the energy saver to prevent unnecessary energy use;
  • Turn off devices when not in use (chargers, television, air conditioning, etc.);
  • The room temperature is set to 22ºC. For optimal air conditioning performance, avoid extreme temperatures (max. 24ºC – min. 20ºC);
  • Ensure the window is closed when using the air conditioning (the system will turn off automatically if not);
  • Switch off the lights in rooms you're not using.

We strive to play an active role in preserving biodiversity by prioritising native species in our gardens. Here’s how you can be part of it:

  • Always take your litter with you when going on an excursion or walk;
  • Do not take stones or shells from natural areas you visit;
  • Respect the fauna and flora of the Algarve;
  • Stick to marked trails and paths;
  • Do not light fires in unauthorised areas;
  • Help preserve the peace and green spaces.

We prioritise sharing, reusing, repairing, renewing, and recycling materials and products. We count on your help:

  • Avoid generating waste;
  • Prevent food waste;
  • Place waste in the appropriate container;
  • If you have any electrical or electronic device that has broken down, please inform the reception;
  • If you wish to make donations (books, parasols, toys, etc.), please inform the reception.

We offer our guests the option to skip daily room cleaning during their stay as part of our sustainability plan. You can make your choice either right after check-in or using the signs available on the door or inside the room.

Our sustainability policy reflects our commitment to integrating responsible practices into all our operations, promoting the efficient use of resources, reducing environmental impacts, and supporting the development of the communities where we operate. Our goal is to create long-term value by balancing economic growth, environmental protection, and social well-being, in alignment with corporate responsibility principles and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Corporate responsibility is a value that has been with 3HB Hotels since its inception. We have always strived to adopt efficient resource management practices and develop our operations in harmony with the surrounding communities.

We firmly believe that promoting sustainability in the tourism industry is not just a responsibility and obligation; it is also an opportunity to contribute to creating a more balanced future and an essential factor for our continued success.

Integrating sustainability principles into our activities is one of our core objectives. For this reason, we are committed to operating sustainably, promoting eco-efficiency, reducing our environmental footprint, and fostering innovation and environmental awareness among our customers, employees, and partners.

We also pledge to foster integrity and good governance, value people and diversity, contribute to social development and citizenship, support community initiatives, ensure transparency, and regularly communicate information about our sustainability performance.

This policy will guide our decisions and actions, always considering:

  • The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda;

  • ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) sustainability principles;

  • Concerns about climate change and the protection of local biodiversity;

  • Sustainable procurement policies that consider environmental management across the entire value chain and promote partnerships with local suppliers;

  • Self-control mechanisms and human resource management to deter active or passive corruption;

  • Human rights, fundamental worker rights, the highest safety standards, and principles of inclusion and non-discrimination;

  • Customer expectations in terms of service quality and encouragement of sustainable behaviour, as well as respect for local culture and traditions;

  • Regional and sectorial tourism and sustainability policies, national and international legislation, and all relevant standards for the industry.

3HB Hotels’ sustainability policy reflects our commitment to providing memorable experiences while respecting and protecting the environment and the communities around us. Together, we work towards a more sustainable future, where hospitality and responsibility go hand in hand.
